Don't Break Your Teeth on The Ice By Alex Hecht on February 06, 2015

If you want to avoid a nasty slip on the ice, and prevent a dental emergency like this one, here are some tips for getting around this winter,

1. On your way to and away from the car, only car items in one hand, do not carry too many items at once. Always keep a free hand to protect yourself.

2. Wear good grip shoes. This is not the time to be keeping up with the latest fashions. Get a good pair of well gripping winter hiking boots to get the most friction against icy surfaces.

3. Always look for places to grip your hands. Especially when walking downstairs, don't try to be a hero and avoid a handrail. Wear gloves so the metal handrails are not too cold, and grab on to something. Even when walking near buildings, keep a hand near a wall to lean just in case.

4. Do not rush. When walking near ice, place each foot down in a measured way to have a steady feel all the time.

If even after being careful, and your teeth get hurt, please call we are here to help!
