Dr. Jason Performs Implant on Dr. Alex
This past Friday, Dr. Jason Hecht performed implant placement on his father and mentor Dr. Alex Hecht, DDS.
Dr. Alex needed his upper right molar replaced and decided an implant was the best solution for the spot.
Having performed well over a thousand implants himself, it was time for him to receive his own, and he wanted his son to perform the procedure.
After a CT scan was done to evaluate the site, the area was numbed and the process began. First a pilot post was placed, to make sure the implant was going in to the proper location.
After the implant went in, an x-ray was taken and the location was confirmed.

Drs. Alex and Jason had been working together for well over 5 years now, placing and restoring implants, side by side. Dr. Alex wanted the implant placed by his son because he has had a long track record of evaluating and trusting his work.
As often is done, Dr. Jason called his patient the next evening to check on his comfort. Dr. Alex reported that he was completely without discomfort, even without pain medication!
